A Parisian of 29 years was brought before the court in Washington U.S. after admitting that he went to the United States for having sex with a minor, and being in possession of child pornography, the FBI said Tuesday. The suspect who pleaded guilty Monday before the District Court District of Columbia, faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
The judgment will be pronounced on July 20. For three months, from September to December 2011, the man had exchanged by Internet e-mails with an FBI agent of the Section for Child Protection acting in a clandestine manner, on a website frequented by pedophiles. He had expressed his interest to come to the United States for having sex with a minor. He had offered to bring gifts to a young girl and her younger sister. The man, who had boarded in Paris December 22, 2011, was arrested on arrival in the possession of gifts and a computer containing hundreds of photographs of child pornography.
