- After twenty years, the US is still the lone country in the world that has failed to ratify the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (CRC). As a result, when a foreign child from any where in the world sets foot on US soil, that child loses their international rights under the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child. The US legal system is notorious for taking children away from parents — including foreign citizens, and causing untold misery for parents and their children. US “family law” lawyers charge large amounts (as much as $500,000) to the parents, often bankrupting them. The US government will not pay for those lawyers. Foreign citizens have rightly called this “outrageous” and “barbaric.”
- If you wish to avoid having your child lost in the US foster care, inept “child protection,” or other parts of its legal system without the protections of the basic human rights required by the UN CRC, don’t bring your children to the United States. Leave your at home, or visit another country, until the US recognizes basic human rights of children by putting into law those rights by ratification of this treaty!
- This is not theoretical — it happens every day!
